If you’re wondering where to eat on Mackinac Island in a wheelchair, stay tuned. I stayed on Mackinac Island for three days in July with my mom, who is in a wheelchair full-time. She is not able to walk even short distances and not all of the restaurants on the island are accessible. These are the restaurants that we enjoyed with the wheelchair.
Good Day Cafe ($10-20)

Good Day Cafe has smoothies, ice cream and sandwiches. This spot had ample space for the wheelchair to move and pull into a table. Good Day Cafe also had a very wheelchair-friendly bathroom with space for a wheelchair to turn around and grab bars.
The smoothies, breakfast sandwiches and lunch subs were all really good here.
Island Slice Pizzeria ($10-20)

Island Slice Pizzeria did not have stairs and was a pretty straight shot to the counter. When we went, my mom found a table to pull into and waited there so she didn’t have to be in the line. We did not use the restroom here, so I am not sure exactly how it is set up. I will note that this restaurant can get very crowded during peak times which could impact accessibility.
They were pretty fast and the pizza and subs were great here.
Seabiscuit Cafe ($15-30)

Seabiscuit Cafe had great food and wasn’t too busy when we went on a Sunday evening for dinner in July. My mom was able to roll through the side by the bar to a table and pull in with her wheelchair. It was a little tight and people did have to stand up temporarily so that she could get in, but overall it really wasn’t bad.
The food was great and they had a nice cocktail menu. Staff was also friendly when we were there.
Great Turtle Brewery & Distillery ($20-35)

Great Turtle Brewery & Distillery was the most accessible spot with wide pathways and tables spaced well enough apart to roll through comfortably. We did not take the wheelchair into the restroom here, but if I recall correctly they did have at least one accessible bathroom.
They had good sized portions, lots of drink options and everything we had was good here.
